Sunday 12th June - (Central Time)
Today we had a shorter journey that took us out of Ontario and into Manitoba - and the beginning of the Prairies!
The roads changed from being surrounded by trees, rolling hills and lakes to flat and virtually tree free, this allowed us to see the approaching thunderstorm and we had a bit of a light show at one time! Then the weather cleared up a bit enabling us to explore the city this evening.
Dryden had been nicer than we had expected and we spent yesterday evening sitting in the bar looking at at the riverside and watching the sun go down.
Winnipeg is looking a bit more challenging. We came in through the industrial part I think but the riverside - near downtown - where our hotel is seems a bit more modern, we shall see.
Tomorrow we will hit the prairies properly as we head for Regina!
Our hotel in Dryden - it started life as a log cabin and the walls of our room were logs.

Before we left Dryden we had the chance for a couple of photo opportunities and a quick geocache!

This sheep was outside a farm that we were hoping to visit but it was closed.

The store by these big things had some amazing native crafts for sale. Lovely moccasins and warm gloves. I hope people support it so that it can stay open.

We have no idea why this statue of Big Foot was here!
