Day 2 - Moncton, New Brunswick to Rivier du Loupe, Quebec

Sunday 6th June (Atlantic Time then Eastern Time). 620km

We had a lovely stay at the winery last night and an amazing breakfast before we left this morning.

Today we travelled across New Brunswick and into Quebec. Lots and lots of trees changed into farming country and potato fields and in the distance the Appalachian Range and occasionally wind farms.

It started raining as we reached Rivière du Loupe  but that didn't stop us getting a few caches. We had a late night coffee in Tim Hortons and noticed that we were on 1799 caches so we ran out in the rain and the dark to get our 1800.

Wifi is rubbish at the motel - only way to pick it up is sitting outside in the cold and the rain so I am completing the blog on the ferry tomorrow - which should have indoor wifi!

The km after our first day - 418.

This giant, and very attractive, silver fox at Salisbury, NB.

A very attractive mug in the OneStop at Salisbury. Very tempting!

A moose and beaver in a canoe - of course. South of Fredericton, NB

Unfortunately I missed off the lobster in the front!

A seriously giant axe - can you see me? It's a memorial to lumberjacks. Nackawic, NB

So big you can't fit it all in a selfie!

Well that's a new sign. Are moose really that big?. Fences were along side the highway to stop the moose, miles and miles of wire fencing. We didn't see a moose!

Yogi Bear - of course! Woodstock, NB

Unfortunately we couldn't find the geocache here.

The worlds longest covered bridge. Heartland, NB

And it had a geocache half way along it. It is half a mile long.

Beautiful wooden construction!

Some of the Appalachian range

Grand Falls, NB

This girl 'zipped lined' too slowly and had to be rescued! Gary wanted a go but we didn't have time! I didn't want a go - it was an experience enough just to watch!

Gary made me do it!

Apparently it's a giant potato!!! Somewhere near Grand Falls and the border with the US. There were no signs to the US border - but we knew it was there! We really wanted to see a sign pointing to America like in England you see signs pointing to Wales but we were disappointed.

We arrive in Quebec and are instantly transported back an hour! A clever bit of time travel!

Saint Louis du Ha Ha!
We had to stop because of the name. The only other town in the world with an exclamation mark at the end is Westward Ho! in Devon, England. A place, for me, of many fantastic childhood holidays.

Our home for the evening. Our room was under the U! Funnily enough there was a geocache right outside!

A record of our mileage at the end of a very long drive. We won't drive that far in a day again till we hit the prairies!
