For some reason we got a free round of golf with our hotel room so we set off to Granite Point Golf course this morning. Gary played and I got to ride in the buggy, read my book in the sunshine and enjoy the views.
This afternoon we explored the town by geocaching. We met a local cacher by the police station and again while we were finding a cache hidden outside her house. It was really hot and we had just climbed a very steep hill so she invited us in for a drink which was very kind of her - if a bit weird!
We aren't used to living in town and so we notice the noise when we do but Nelson must hold the record for the noisiest cars. It is as if a lot of the car owners have removed the silencer (muffler) from the car exhaust - a crazy noise. They also don't have the Nova Scotian tendency to stop anywhere to let people cross the road - they go for the Italian style of aiming for anyone trying to cross!
This evening, for the first time on our trip, we actually were able to sit outside for our dinner. We had a great spot sitting at a local tapas bar looking out over the lake and watching the sun disappear behind the mountains.
